Hello lovely people,
This time last week I was waking up surrounded by acres of woodland in a wonderful homely chalet in Woburn Centre Parcs. It was the last day of our weeks holiday as we celebrated our beautiful Bea turning one. I would imagine that our holiday was similar to most families with young babies in that we explored the beautiful grounds and swimming paradise during the daylight hours and were tucked up on the sofa before darkness. Might sound sad to some but that’s our routine right now and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. Also, we had log burner, DVD’s and a wine fridge. What else do you need on a holiday in the UK? The Tropic range of Awaken The Senses, of course. Keep reading…
Two things happened to me on our holiday. Firstly, I realised that halfway through the week we had everything that we could possibly need in our small three bed bungalow style chalet. Granted we, (by we I mean Mr M) did make two car journeys home to make sure that we had all the essentials. Anyone that has a child of similar age will get where I’m coming from. Why struggle with boot space when you’re only travelling 25 miles from home. I’m sure loads of people did multiple journeys like we did.
Anyway, back at home in St Albans we live in an average sized 3 bed town house. I always feel as though we never have enough space and every so often this overwhelming feeling of being cramped takes over and I have a massive tidying up cull. Mr M rarely comments on this as he sees it as a temporary fix to my issue of having way too much stuff and my love of creating piles. The only comment he ever makes is “I wonder how long that will last.” Really unhelpful but if I’m being honest, very realistic.
I struggle so much to get rid of things as I have such an attachment to objects whether it’s a nice towel or a sentimental picture frame. I have so many possessions that I don’t even know where they all are or what purpose they serve. When we got home from Woburn Centre Parcs on the Friday evening, I felt as though our house was so cluttered and full up of unnecessary things. It was as though I was looking at our home, which I love dearly by the way, through the eyes of someone who had never been there before.
It would be quite obvious that we have a baby, (unless the guest was Stevie Wonder) the kitchen is clearly used for a lot of cooking and baking, both bathrooms are like Pinterest boards for Tropic skincare and the loft room looks like a storage area for Mothercare, any craft related hobby and other random things such as a ladder, ironing board and various books and magazines. I feel most guilty about the state of this room as it is shared between my two lovely step-children and my craft area. Don’t worry, I have a plan and it actually involves professional help. More about this next week.
The second thing that happened to me on holiday was that I actually had time to myself. I had three bathrooms to spread out all my toiletries and I did. Being away from home and free of all the usual daily responsibilities meant that after 6pm when Bea was asleep, I could actually do what I wanted, not what needed to be done around the house. I always find that when you’re away from home you always feel like you have more time on your hands simply because generally speaking, you have less responsibilities.
So, I treated my body and hair to five days and four nights of serious Tropic pampering. The one treatment that I really want to share with you is my improvised shampoo and conditioner.
Not a day goes past where I don’t chat with another Tropic ambassador about an amazing find with our products. We are like children in a sweetie factory with all these amazing products and so many ways to use them. If Facebook monitor our conversations they would have some serious laughs. Tropic has over 100 products now and that covers all aspects of body care and make up. Unfortunately there isn’t a shampoo and conditioner (yet…) but what there is, are alternatives.
A fellow ambassador shared her amazing find of using The Awaken The Senses body wash as a shampoo and The Awaken The Senses Luxury Body Oil as a conditioner. You can also use The Soothe The Senses Body Wash and The Soothe The Senses Luxury Body Oil.
I used a tiny blob of The Awaken The Senses body wash and it lathered up so quickly in my hair. The smell was just amazing and my head was squeaky clean as soon as I rinsed it off. I put a generous amount of The Awaken The Senses Luxury body oil in my hands and massaged it all over my head and particularly at the ends. As I wasn’t in a rush to rinse it out I left it on over night and rinsed it off in the morning with a tiny amount of The Awaken The Senses body wash again. I cannot explain how amazing my hair looked and felt once I combed and dried it. All I’m going to say is try it. I’ve experimented with so many intensive conditioner and leave in oils for my hair. None of them gave me the shine, smell or look that these products did. Basically, until Susie Ma brings out a shampoo and conditioner, (she launches products twice a year!) THIS will be my new regime. If you’re in a hurry or don’t fancy leaving The Awaken The Senses Luxury body oil in overnight then rinse the oil out when you need to and finish with a blob of The Awaken The Senses body wash. I would love to hear from anyone who uses these gorgeous products.
I need to add here that these two body washes are so natural that I even use a tiny blob of them to bathe and wash my one year olds body & hair. Bea has Eczema on her body and both The Awaken & Soothe The Senses Body Wash are mild enough for her skin. It leaves her skin really soft and she constantly smells gorgeous. I am not advocating that The Awaken & Soothe The Senses body washes are a cure for Eczema, but they work well for my daughter. I also use both body washes & the luxury body oil as a bubble bath alternative for me. The smell is heavenly and my skins feels amazing after.
Both The Awaken & Soothe The Senses Luxury Body Oils are on sale today until 14/2/17 with 20% off. Treat yourself or gift someone that special someone (and borrow it) by clicking here.
