Hello lovely people,
I am STILL buzzing with the excitement of yesterday’s Tropic Road Show at The Cambridge Holiday Inn. Susie Ma and her two support managers – Carlton and Karina really know how to put on an unforgettable show and educate you at the same time.
Just in case you haven’t seen a picture of the beautiful Susie Ma before, she is on the right in the picture above and I’m the one with the big cheesy smile. For those of you who haven’t met Carlton, he’s the man and I’m the woman!
Unfortunately I didn’t get a picture with the crazy cat – Karina, so I’ve picked one off social media, (with all three of them together) just so you can put a face to the name as I talk about them.
It was honestly like meeting three celebrities after hearing so much about them and seeing so many funny pictures of them splashed across various social media pages. They really did live up to the hype and after spending nearly three hours in their company, I feel as though I know them on a personal level.
Things you will instantly realise about Susie. She is tiny. Almost doll like in her appearance, stunningly beautiful and her skin is flawless. She is a pleasure to listen to and she seriously knows her stuff. She has done more research into chemicals and toxins than most scientists will have done in their career. I kid you not if you’ve been to one of these road shows then you will see for yourself that this inspiring young lady, (I can say that as I’m ten years older than her) is full of knowledge about her products and where she is intending to take Tropic in the future with her team. She is so inspirational and she comes from such a humble background. When she talks about her past and all she has accomplished to get to where she is today, you would have to be made of stone to not feel moved by her success. She makes it so clear that the reason she is sharing this is because she believes we can all achieve success in our own right.
You rarely heard the word ‘I’ as she was gushing about her immediate team at HQ and all of the wonderful 5000 strong ambassadors that have made it possible for Tropic to become so successful on a level that surprised everyone involved.
She didn’t read off any notes and spouted out names of ingredients like a mathematician reads out equations. At the end of her speech when she asked for a show of hands for those who were Ambassadors I felt so proud to raise my hand.
I was sat beside a lovely lady called Theresa, ( a dedicated paramedic) who was there to find out if being an ambassador was for her. It was quite clear at least halfway through the presentation that she was completely in awe of what Tropic had to offer her as a potential ambassador and also how amazing the products were.
I don’t want to spoil any of the inside jokes of the road show as there is still one more left, (Croydon on Tuesday 24Th Jan at 7.15pm at The Hallmark hotel) BUT prepare to wet yourself from laughter.
Susie talks about her grandmother in Australia doing drugs (she meant the legal kind…), her mother using the lid of a yoghurt pot all over her face as a mask, at the airport.
Karina who supports and clearly motivates the team at HQ is like no one I’ve ever encountered before. Her talk was so motivational, inspiring and outrageously hilarious. She is so random and yet so astute. Her way of getting you to understand different approaches in how to engage with people as an ambassador had me howling with laughter. She is a massive personality and seriously oozes positive energy. Those that work immediately with her are very fortunate indeed to have someone as passionate as she is.
Then there’s Carlton. Where do I start with this hilarious character. He has been with Susie right from the beginning when there was no money for staff or a warehouse and they packed the few orders together. He talked about an occasion when they were both ecstatic with disbelief and excitement at having ten orders to pack. Quite a contrast to the warehouse in surrey now where the team packs hundreds of orders in a day.
Carlton is the general manager of Tropic and is responsible for looking after all of us lucky ambassadors. He is the brains behind all the amazing incentives, awards ceremonies and once in a lifetime trips. He is so passionate about supporting us ambassadors in any way he sees fit.
Before meeting Carlton, I kept seeing the same hashtag — #everyoneneedsacarltonintheirlife on social media and couldn’t quite understand what it meant. I get it now. He is so eccentric and will have you on your knees from laughter even if he is trying to get across a serious point. His passion and drive for Tropic is contagious. He seriously knows how to inspire and motivate ambassadors.
I feel like I’m on a high after spending the evening with these three amazing individuals. I definitely have a greater understanding of why Tropic Skincare products are sold as they are via us ambassadors and not off shelves on shops where the natural ingredients in our preservatives would have to be completely compromised.
It was also really nice to hear Susie refer so warmly to Sir Alan Sugar and to state the obvious that he didn’t need to go into business with her and invest £200,000 of his money for the profit. He did it because he is so passionate about encouraging entrepreneurs and he wants to see people start up their own businesses and achieve success as THEY define it.
I wholeheartedly and with complete faith in Tropic, encourage you to take a leap of faith in yourself and become an ambassador for the fastest growing beauty company in the UK.
All you need to do is make contact with an ambassador – ME!
